Our Story
At The Kolache Place,our story didn't start with a name; it started with some homesick students, a family recipe, and a commitment to bringing authentic, scratch-made kolaches to Utah County and Salt Lake County.

Since 2014, we’ve had the privilege of serving this community. While you may have first known us as Hruska's Kolaches, our journey has recently evolved. We have chosen to move forward as The Kolache Place. This change allows us to focus entirely on what we do best: baking crazy delicious kolaches and sharing them with our communities.
Although our name on the sign is new, everything else remains the same:

The Same Team: Our founders continue to lead our five locations with the same passion they had on Day One.

The Same Recipes: Every kolache is still hand-packed and baked fresh daily using our great-grandmother's recipe that earned us national recognition and local features.

Over a Decade of History: We are proud of our legacy in Utah and remain the same business that has grown from a single shop in Provo to a multi-location community staple.

What the Czech is a Kolache
​Starting out as only a fruit-topped piece of bread in Eastern Europe, the kolache has been transformed and stuffed with a range of different toppings and fillings to satisfy anyone’s craving. The combination of our handmade fillings and great-grandmother’s dough has created the kolache you know and love today. At Hruska’s Kolaches, we pride ourselves on bringing you only the best. Our handmade kolaches are baked in small batches, multiple times a day to ensure that everything you eat is fresh.
Our Kolaches
Everything we put into our kolaches is made daily. The fruits, veggies, and meats are all purchased locally. We crack our own eggs, cut our own meats, and make our own jams and jellies from real fruit. The charm of our kolaches comes from the simple fact that we love what we do and are proud of what we created. Is it perfect? Maybe...maybe not...but it sure is delicious and real.
And yes, you may even be lucky enough to find a real eggshell in your kolache.
